Five candidates of the opposition announced their withdrawal of the presidential election of June 28th and threaten to boycott all the electoral process. Agathon Rwasa, leader of the ex rebellion of the FNL, the main rival of president Pierre Nkurunziza, Domitien Ndayizeye, former president and leader of the FRODEBU, the main party of the parliamentary opposition, Leoanard Nyangoma, former rebels leader, as well as Pascaline Kampayano, dissident of the CNDD FDD, and former journalist Alexis Sinduhije, leader of the Movement for solidarity and democracy MSD , all threw in the towel.
