Members of the Samajwadi Party SP and the Rashtriya Janata Dal RJD walked out of the Rajya Sabha Wednesday demanding that the suspension of seven MPs be revoked. The MPs were suspended Tuesday for unruly behaviour and had to be forcibly removed from the house before the debate on the Women s Reservation Bill.

China and India have endorsed the Copenhagen Accord on climate change, the last of the world s major emitters to embrace the political agreement. But the two big developing world emitters’ conditional commitment, and those of some of the other 100 nations to sign on, highlight the major obstacles still to be addressed if the accord is to provide a stepping stone toward a new comprehensive climate agreement beyond the Kyoto Protocol.
